In today's world, importance of china is reflected by its role as 3rd largest economy of world nominally and permanent member of UN Security Council and being member of several multilateral organizations APEC, WTO, Shanghai Cooperation and East Asia Summit. China is recognized nuclear state and has world's largest army with 2 nd largest defense budget. People's Republic of China is regarded by the several political scientists as one of last five Communists states. People's Republic of China government has been described variously in several areas, notably on press, Internet reproductive rights, freedom of assembly and freedom of religion.

People's Republic of China is run by (CPC) Communist Party of China which is guaranteed power by their constitution. Some other political parties exist in PRC, in China it is referred to as "democratic party" that participate in National People's Congress and People's Political Consultative Conference. The party retains control over the government appointments: in absence of meaningful opposition. Level of support that Communist Party has among PRC population in general is very unclear it is since there are no contested national elections consistently.
